Hello :)
The name Miss Bento Books came about as a wordplay between bento boxes and books. I’m an avid lover of both. Also, I believe my personal style has to do with cute childish linear arts and organized zen style, thus the name.
I’m a Filipino girl of Chinese descent based in Manila, Philippines and I absolutely eat books for lunch!
I’ve had a love affair with food (not just Japanese bentos) and books for quite a long time. I’m a carnivore, more than a herbivore. I was blessed to have grandparents, a mom and an uncle who just love preparing very good dishes at home, that I was exposed to very good food at an early age. I must say that I’m more of an eater rather than a cook. Nothing can make me give up eating very good dishes, so I try to run twice or thrice a week to control weight gains.
I read all sorts of books from fiction to business, and really enjoy comics, science and technology articles. Recently, I’m also dabbling with graphic design. I’m also a couch potato who loves watching movies, TV series and documentaries. :D
What’s this Blog About?
I created this blog because I wanted more Filipinos, mainly, to know what’s long been missing in their lives. I hope that through my personal love affair with food and books, that I can share my perspective and change yours for at least a couple of lunches and dinners. There’s a huge life of meaning, a life of ideas and discussions and reading books opens all the doors to it. I felt that by interplaying my love for food, books and art through this blog that I can help achieve these two simple goals:
Two Simple Goals:
Higher Enjoyment of Reading and Good Food
Discovering and Discussing Great Reads, Movies etc
So hey, what are you reading? Let’s fill your mind and tummy to the brim :D
